Archive transparency

An independent database.
Always moving.

The portal queries its own PostgreSQL database. Sources feed an import, validation and reconciliation pipeline; no search depends on an external API responding at that moment.

From source to research

How updates work

Automated, reversible and checked before any data reaches the public.

  1. 01Collection

The current season is checked four times a day; the historical archive, daily.

  2. 02Reconciliation

Names, identifiers, players, tournaments and dates are matched to existing records.

  3. 03Validation

Duplicates, invalid matches, future dates and matchup integrity are checked.

  4. 04Publication

Only a complete import replaces the previous state; after a failure, the valid database remains active.

Ranking trajectories

What a documented week means

A measure of this archive's evidence, not a claim of official continuous weeks.

01

One calendar week

Top 10, 20, 50 and 100 permanence counts each calendar week with at least one archived snapshot placing the player inside that range. If the archive has more than one list in the same week, it still counts once.

02

No interpolation

The archive is mostly weekly, but its cadence and depth vary by era and source. Weeks without a snapshot are not filled, even when the player appears immediately before and after a gap.

03

Canonical identity

Strong source identifiers and carefully reviewed name evidence can join historical and current records for the same player. Ambiguous identities remain separate; raw ranking entries are preserved.

04

Peak and progression

The peak date is the first archived snapshot at the player's best position. The chart keeps the latest recorded ranking in each month for readability, while permanence is calculated from every available snapshot.
